I’ve been in my studio again, working away. This time, on some new Travel-themed handmade cards for Project Life. Summer gives us so many opportunities for new adventures and if you are a documenter of life, you know you’ll have more than just a couple of layouts to fill for the season.
I absolutely LOVE the concept of Project Life and find a lot of inspiration is their designs. But I do often feel like I want more dimension, color and unique touches. Which is where I kick into high gear and happily get my hands dirty while I complicate the process.
With this Project Life Travel kit, I wanted to add some personal touch to existing cards as well as make some from scratch. I love layering and texture, so you’ll notice that I used corrugated paper to add dimension. I also used brads and Prima Flowers as well as die cut circles and chipboard letters.
Project Life Travel kit
This kit contains ten cards in total:
– 2 cards in 4×6″ size, one of which is a journaling card
– 8 cards in 3×4″ size, two of which are journaling cards
Here is the full layout, with room for six (6) 4 x 6″ photos. I will be using these cards with Project Life pockets in Design A (left side) and Design D (right side).
Of course, there’s always room for a couple more small photos, like adding 2×2’s to the journaling cards.
In addition to the basic supplies like cardstock, scrapbooking paper and photo safe glue, I love my Tim Holtz tiny attacher and use it often to add easy and simple stapler accents. On many of my cards, I also use veneer to add dimension and a bit of rustic feel.
I have this Project Life Travel kit for sale at my Easy shop right now. Please stop by and check it out. If you don’t see what you want, please let me know if I can make something custom for you.
